We are proud to also claim those owners and co-owners who have been such a huge part of our breeding program; not only breeding but living with, training, exhibiting or just adoring danes with the Sardi kennel name. In addition, we have recently added havanese to our collection of danes.
We are firm believers in health testing and support the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) as suggested by the Great Dane Club of America and the Havanese Club of America. Health testing is not a guarantee of future health; it is only a tool to be used in making breeding decisions to help create a better future. CHIC is not about passing tests, it is about making health test information public rather than keeping secrets in the closet, so to speak. No one can promise you a puppy won't develop a genetic problem; the health testing available at this time cannot guarantee that. What this testing can do is help increase the odds of your puppy growing up healthy.
Great Dane puppies do not leave prior to 8 weeks of age, and have their appropriate shots and medical records along with feeding and care instructions. We are always accessible to each puppy owner for help, general questions, or just to chat. In 2008 we started having family reunions which have given us a great way to stay in touch! Havanese puppies do not leave prior to 10 weeks of age.
We believe it’s better for dogs to have some formal obedience training and so offer a rebate towards the cost of an obedience course to encourage each new owner to take their baby to a local class.

| We show the danes and the havanese in both conformation and performance events, so we breed specifically towards those goals. I'm not usually home during the day as I work full time to support these dog hobbies. | |

I brought home my first great dane in June, 1990. Her name was All Men R In Love W Marcella CD, CGC, TDI (April 22, 1990 - June 4, 2002)
Marcella was many things to many people - but most importantly, I adored her. She was the first giant breed of dog allowed into our local hospital as a therapy dog; she finished her AKC Companion Dog title (CD) with a High In Trial at the GDCMF Specialty in January 1992 and continued to compete in non-regular classes. She was the oldest dog entered in obedience at the 2000 National Specialty in Kansas City, Missouri and again at the 2001 National Specialty in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She touched the lives of all she met; a day does not go by that I don't miss her. Marcella was just over 12 years old when we sent her over the Rainbow Bridge; while her heart and mind were strong, arthritis & spinal disc problems caused her to lose her mobility. As ever, she went with dignity.
Jayne (Veteran BIS CH Sardi's Too Hot To Handle) forever claimed her part of our history when she won Veteran Best In Show in January, 2010.

I like to think that our story continues to be written with every dane and every family:
